Small worlds, made to hold.

Describe an object or drop a sketch. Zipclay sculpts a collector's model you can turn, remix and size, then export for print preparation.

The studio

From a sentence to a piece on your shelf.

Four concept models

Four concepts, each a real 3D model

Describe the object or drop a sketch. The modeling agent designs four directions and builds every one in Blender, so you pick between real models, not pictures.

~60 s4 models

Every idea deserves to be held.

No prompt needed

Start from a collection, a template or a photograph.

Remix a collection piece, set up a planter or a nameplate with a few sliders, or turn photos of someone you love into a keepsake. Everything opens in the studio, ready to change.

Collections

Designs with a point of view.

Each collection is one world, with its own materials, light and staging. Turn every piece in 3D and remix any of them for free.

Easy by default. Deep when you want it.

A real 3D studio, in your browser.

No installs and no CAD training. Every tool works on the real model, in the millimetres you will print.

Printing

Made real by our print partners.

Zipclay makes the digital model; it doesn't print or ship. Size your piece here, download its STL file and confirm the model and material requirements with an independent printing service. They set the price and handle shipping.

STL exports come with the Maker and Studio plans. Review the model's size and geometry warnings, then check your chosen partner's printing requirements.

Questions

Asked often

What is Zipclay?

A 3D design studio for collector's models. Describe an object, upload a sketch or remix a collection piece to build a model you can inspect, edit and export, with geometry checks to help prepare it for printing.

Do you sell prints?

No. We make digital models and export files. Our print partners (Craftcloud, Shapeways, Slant 3D) print and ship the object; you order from them directly, at their prices, with their shipping and returns.

What do I pay Zipclay for?

Only digital things: the models you make each month, STL and STEP exports, technical drawings and commercial use. Remixing the collections and designing keepsakes are free.

Who owns the models I make?

You do. On paid plans you can sell the models you make and the prints made from them. Free-plan models are for personal use.

How do credits work?

New models need both model credits and available AI usage allowance. Chat edits use AI allowance but no model credits. Either limit can pause new model creation, so model counts are maximums. Check your plan page for recorded AI cost, pending requests and remaining allowance. Monthly allowances reset on the first day of each month at midnight UTC. Extra model credits do not expire. If a model fails, its model credit is returned; AI usage follows the cost of work already performed. Deleting a model does not return a credit.

Will it actually print?

The studio reports watertightness and flags thin or separate parts when checks are available. Review those results at your chosen size, then confirm material, wall thickness and support requirements with your printer. A watertight model alone is not a printability guarantee.

Which files do I get?

GLB for the web and games and a studio render on every plan; on Maker and Studio, an STL in millimetres for print preparation, a STEP for CAD and a dimensioned drawing. Review geometry warnings and your printer's requirements before printing.
